The Brand Story of Shield Hound

In the European fields of the 19th century, when the hunting trend was in full swing,  Shield Hound was founded as a small workshop by craftsmen who were obsessed with dogs and skilled in tanning and  tailoring. They specialized in making hunting attire for nobles. Using tough leather as a “shield” to protect hunters,  with the “Hound” element integrated into the design,  it became a symbol of quality and status in the hunting circle. The shield logo was deeply engraved with the dedication  to safety and professionalism.

As time moved to the mid - 20th century, the demand for hunting clothing gradually declined,  and the brand fell into a bottleneck. A designer who traveled between the East and the West came,  bringing with him the philosophy of Tai Chi from the East — the harmony of Yin and Yang,  and the combination of hardness and softness. He looked at the brand's past:  the toughness of leather was “hardness”, yet the skin longed for softness and comfort,  which was the reflection of “softness”. Just like the interdependent Yin and Yang in the Tai Chi diagram,  the materials of the clothes should also have such a balance — the warmth of natural wool and the delicacy of Tencel,  just like the blending of Yin and Yang, giving the wearer both physical and mental comfort.

Thus,  Shield Hound embarked on a transformation journey. Inheriting the core “guardian” gene of the shield (representing  “hardness”),  it uses durable and functional outdoor fabrics to cope with wind and rain challenges. Drawing on Eastern wisdom,  it incorporates soft and skin - friendly natural fibers (representing “softness”),  making the wearing experience as smooth as Tai Chi movements. From focusing on hunting gear,  it has expanded to urban outdoor and family casual clothing. Each piece of clothing has become a carrier of cultural  integration. Today,  the logo of Shield Hound is a continuation of the century - old guardian spirit and also hides the Eastern philosophy of the harmony of Yin and Yang. Whether traveling through city streets or heading to the mountains and nature putting it on allows you to feel the comfortable protection of the combination of hardness and softness,  making the cross - cultural warmth and practicality accompany every journey.
